I am so very pleased to see that Mya's poops are now a tiny, firm, non-smelly (well, as non smelly as dog poop can be), solid poop. They are so easy to pick up!
The eye guck has stopped too! The greenish slime that would come out of the corner of her eye is now gone. The ear infections are clearing up nicely too.
I haven't seen her chew on her feet in a while. Unless she is doing that while I'm not around. She is scratching still, but that is reduced as well.
I am going to give her a bath and a grooming soon.
Looks like this food is working so far! Knock on wood.
The only thing I don't like about the food, is the fish smell on her beard! She's going to have to get used to having her face washed after eating.

Swimming with Avery
Mya loves to swim too. In this video, she swims and she tries to play with Avery while he is swimming. At the end, it looks like she hit him in the face, but she didn't. That's what he always does when he comes out of the lake with water in his eyes.
The frog hunt!
Well, this is how Mya spent most of her day. She was on a mission to catch a frog. The poor girl didn't get one all summer. She did swat one on the head one day, but it did hop away.

New Video Feature
I thought I would try out this feature. So I went into the backyard just as Mya got the Zoom-Zooms.
Can't let go of summer

Food change update
I switched Mya's food on Monday without mixing with her old food. I figured what extra harm could it cause to go cold turkey than to mix her new food with one that wasn't agreeing with her tummy.
So, since then, the changes I have noticed are the firm stool. Yeah, no more soft icecream texture. The scratching is decreasing, but not stopped yet. Still chewing on her feet. Ear infection and eye guck haven't changed yet. Although I am now adding polysporin drops in her ears.
I was told the change in symptoms could take 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the severity of her allergies.
I will keep this updated as we go.

Food problems again!
It seems like an endless battle to try to find a food that Mya will do well on. She was doing great with Holistic Blend until June of this year. The change happened at the same time that they changed their packaging. The company said they didn't change their ingredients, well, actually they said "we only use natural ingredients". So, after eating 2 bags of it, it was time for a change. I tried her on Foundations by Petcurean. The diahreah cleared up a bit, but the rest of the symptoms seamed to get worse :(
Then after talking to several people, we decided to try a grain free diet. But remember, she can't eat chicken either. So, there weren't too many choices and I'm just not ready to try raw yet. We decided on Timberwolf Organics, Ocean Blue. Here are the ingredients:
White Fish Meal, Salmon, Potatoes, Salmon Oil, Dried Kelp, Dehydrated Alfalfa Leaf, Potassium Chloride, Carrot, Watercress, Spinach, Celery, Parsley, Fennel Seed, Blueberries, Cranberries, Pears, Figs, Thyme, Anise Seed, Ground Cinnamon Bark, Fenugreek, Garlic, Sunflower Seeds, Sesame Seeds, Apples, Taurine, Choline Chloride, Lecithin, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Lactobacillus Casei, Lactobacillus Lactis, Bacillus Bifidum, Bacillus Subtillus, Taurine, Mixed Tocopherols (a source of vitamin E), Lysine, Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Thiamine, Methionine, Carnitine, Niacin, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Iodine Proteinate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Biotin, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine (a source of vitamin B6), Papain, Yucca Schidigera Extract.
It should take about 4 to 6 weeks to see a huge difference. And with a cost of $83 (including taxes) it's not a cheap option to say the least. I just hope that this food will work well. And remember, no treat for her during this testing time either :(
